I was swimming last Sunday as it was 90 degrees and was it hot. I have to tell you this because here it comes: yes, the good weather is here at long last. Now I can get out my bucket and shovel and head for the beach with my sun lotion and what ever else so that I won’t get sun burned. Oh yeah, it happens every year and every year I say to myself “no more sunbathing” and of course I do the same thing again and again, what can I tell yea?
Also, it seems we will have some good news about heading back home to Ireland as from what I have been told the quarantines are going to be lifted, now that will be something. I am also so happy for all the bars and restaurants getting their chance to get back in business here in US and back in Ireland as most of them are all Irish owned and Irish staffed as they are the best at doing it. Ah for a cold one again; I am looking forward to one.
Fiona McEntee, I do know her well and what she has been doing for Irish immigrants in her legal capacity has just been fabulous and now she is been recognized by The Irish Business Organization for all her work. Fiona is a legal advocate for immigration in America. Irish-born and Chicago-based Fiona is a recognizable media-friendly face and voice in the US immigration conversation through interviews with MSNBC, BBC, CNN, The New York Times, Politico, The Chicago Tribune… and now Irish Stew.
She is the founding and managing attorney of McEntee Law Group which represents individuals, families, and some of the world’s leading musicians (including the Coronas), artists, athletes, and entrepreneurs. As a proud Irish immigrant and naturalized US citizen, Fiona has dedicated her career to the advancement of immigrants’ rights from lobbying in Washington, DC, to suing the Trump Administration over the controversial travel ban.
Inducted into the Chicago Irish-American Heritage Center Hall of Fame in 2019, Fiona recently published “Our American Dream”, a children’s book on immigration.
I could not pass up the following announcement up as first of all they are all good friends and second of all they fully support The Irish Examiner USA. So here we go: join the County Kerry P&B Association of New York at the Kerry Hall from 2.30 pm on Sunday, June 27th for their Grand Re-opening, enjoy an afternoon of music, dance and theater! They will proudly present “The Unsung Hero” a show that celebrates the life of Kerryman, Michael O’Rahilly and his plight during the 1916 Easter Rising. Starring actor Michael Mellamphy , the story is brought to life in this tale of both Love of Family and Country – written by David Gilna, with music by Sean O’Neal.
Music starts at 2:30 pm with Niall O’Leary and Dave Barckow and after the play at 5:30 pm by The New York Ceili Band and The Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance.
Tickets are $20 each and can be got from http://thepigeontheatre.com.
The County Kerry P&B Association of NY supports & unites Kerry men, and women, and their descendants, through social events, charitable acts and fundraising. The Association promotes Irish culture and history through music, dance and lecture. Now it’s a well-known fact that there are lots and lots of Kerry people and Irish American Kerry people here in the United States, especially in New York that should join the association and keep the history of these great immigrants that came here for a better life alive and to meet new friends.
To join and make a difference, come to the next monthly Members’ Meeting, document your Kerry heritage and participate in a friendly interview. Then be prepared for friendship and fun. Please note, there is a fee of $60 to join.

That’s it for this week hope to see you all again when I am Out&About…
