New York is famous for many things including a raft of festivals plus art and antiques fairs. This last weekend the first art fair hailing the winter/spring season took place. Assembling the top galleries from New York and the globe, the ADAA Art Show at the Park Avenue Armory (643 Park Ave, New York, NY 10065) was held from February 28 to March 4th.

The show opened with a keynote speech from Christiane Fischer (President and CEO, AXA Art Americas Corporation) entitled The Value of “Dead” Art: Afterlives of Damaged Works.” There was also a performance by artist Wang Dongling.

Panels and other events were part of the event including “Beyond New York: Cultural Vibrancy Across the U.S.,” “An Evening with Joel S. Ehrenkranz,” and “What Makes The Humanities Human: Why Art Is More Than An Investment.”

Here’s a sampling of the many cool works seen there over the last weekend from the 30+ galleries exhibiting.

Among the galleries were: Cheim & Read, Galerie St. Etienne, Howard Greenberg Gallery, Debra Force Fine Art, Inc., Marian Goodman Gallery, Salon 94 and more.
