Out & About

I hope you are all ready because it’s all happening in the next couple of weeks. Yes, I do mean the whole Saint Patrick’s Day season that starts right now; oh, I love it. There are plenty of county dinner dances, concerts, parades, music, arts, restaurant and pub entertainment with a lot of celebrating with singing and dancing.
Everything starts this weekend when The New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade honors Loretta Brennan Glucksman, Grand Marshal for the 2018 parade, and the Aides to the Grand Marshal on Sunday at Antun’s (96-43 Springfield Blvd, Queens Village). For more information, on the event check out the ad on the opposite page and don’t forget to visit nycstpatricksparade.org.
Again, there should be a packed house on Sunday and, yes, I will be there so I hope to meet a lot of friends on Sunday.
The New York St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration Committee honored the 2018 Aides to the Grand Marshal Loretta Brenna Glucksman and all the Affiliated Organizations of the 257th New York City Parade at Rory Dolans Restaurant (890 McLean Avenue, Yonkers) last Sunday.
The Irish Examiner USA has no political agenda and supports everything Irish and Irish American and is happy to bring all the news when I am out and about.
Denis McCarthy Chairman and Thomas Bierne Master of Ceremonies, I must say, did a fabulous job in welcoming all the guests. The Irish and American National Anthems by Meghan Doherty and Madison Bishop got the day off to a great start with Pipers Dermot Moore and David Cahill providing the entertainment for the evening.
All the Honorable Aides were introduced followed by the Parade Committee Officers. What a great evening is was as you had Tara Carway and the Erin Loughran School of music and Irish dancers.
It was nice to see John Dunleavy and his wife who also attended with a host of other guests and again what a great job! Rory Dolan did it again.
The Ireland Chamber of Commerce USA (ICCUSA) will be hosting their 22nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast from 9 am to 11 am on Saturday March 17th.
The breakfast will be held at the Lotte New York Palace (455 Madison Avenue) with the speakers still to be announced. The National Anthems will be performed by Mairead Early and the Petri School of Irish Dance and the FDNY EMS Pipes and Drums will be performing throughout the breakfast.
Attendance is free for ICCUSA members and there is a $55 fee for non-members. Don’t forget to RSVP by March 2nd.
The Irish Examiner will be printing copies for the special occasion of Saint Patrick’s Day this year and we will be handing them out all over the Metropolitan area so please pick one up as it should be a collector’s item, you like that, huh?
We did promise that you will see it as one of the best Irish newspapers in North America and we are only getting started and you our readers will dictate that as we need your input and your reviews all the time.
If you have checked our new web site please give us your comments as we value them and need them in order to move to the next level.
I would like to thank all the readers that have giving us great credit and we thank you so much. I hope to see you all again next week when I am Out & About once more.
