The Irish Repertory Theatre has done it again with an all star cast upcoming show The Dead, 1904 that is based on the novella “The Dead” by James Joyce, adapted by Paul Muldoon and Jean Haniff Korelitz and directed by Ciaran O’Reilly which begins on November 17 and runs through to January 12, 2019.
The “luminous” Melissa Gilbert is returning as Gretta in The Dead, 1904 alongside Rufus Collins as Gabriel! Ms. Gilbert’s acclaimed career as an actor began at a young age, when she was cast as the lead in “The Little House on the Prairie” and “The Miracle Worker.”
Other returning cast members from last year’s acclaimed production include the “pitch-perfect” Patricia Kilgariff and Patti Perkins as the Morkan sisters (your hosts for the evening), “stand out” violinist and actress Heather Martin Bixler, the “golden-voiced” Kimberly Doreen Burns, Peter Cormican, the “superb” Terry Donnelly, and a “powerful” Aedín Moloney.
They are also delighted to welcome new cast members Ciarán Byrne as Freddy, Meg Hennessy as Lily, and Robert Mack as Bartell D’Arcy.
Don’t miss your chance to mingle and dine with this exquisite cast as they portray Joyce’s immortal characters in a captivating evening of music, food, and epiphany.
With only 57 guests per performance, this event has sold out for the past two years. Don’t miss your chance to join them this holiday season! Buy tickets via by calling (212) 727-2737 or online at irishrep.org

It was nice to see the 2019 New York City Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshal Brian O’Dwyer who will be leading us all up Fifth Avenue on March 16th. I also got to meet John Dunleavy, John Mahon, Eddie Dowling (I was his guest), Mae O’Driscoll, Hilary Beirne, Garett Doyle, J.P.Delaney and John Tully.
I could go on as the cream of the crop of Irish and Irish American guests were at the dinner. The music by Martin Melody had the crowd dancing, ah you cant keep the Irish down.
