While I was Out&About last week, I was on the annual Celtic Cruise benefiting the Emerald Isle Immigration Center, the most recent one being held last Wednesday aboard The Spirit of New York. The event departed from Chelsea Piers in Manhattan and featured a buffet dinner, open bar, live Irish music, and fundraising for the immigration center. Bands who perform included The Brooklyn Bards, The Narrowbacks, Amadans, Celtic Blend, Murphy’s Lawyer, and lots of other guests who all volunteered their time for free and deserve a big thank you from all concerned; you know who you all are as I do as well, thank you all the musicians who always make it happen. There was a capacity audience that really enjoyed themselves and some of them danced all evening during the sailing around the Hudson River and again, it was absolutely brilliant.
An annual event that is booked out every year, the Celtic Cruise benefits the Emerald Isle Immigration Center (EIIC). The event was held aboard the Spirit of New York, departing from Chelsea Piers, Pier 62 in Manhattan. Tickets were $125 and included a buffet dinner, open bar, live entertainment, dancing, and a cruise around Manhattan. The cruise is organized by Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 7 in support of the EIIC, helping fund immigration, legal, and social services for immigrant communities in New York.
Many thanks to a man who gives it all to support the cruise and that is John Tully who wears a lot of hats in the Irish community who deserves lots of support for all the volunteer work that he does, well done John from The Irish Examiner USA team.

Before I finish, a special thank you to Siobhan Dennehy, Executive Director of Emerald Isle Immigration Center and all her team who give their dedication to serving the Irish and non-Irish immigrant communities of New York with no fuss as they just do what they do so brilliantly.
