I am so sorry that I missed the Celtic Cruise last Wednesday as I was preparing for a trip to Orlando with my family. I am told it was a blast as I knew it would be as it is always a great community get together of friends that don’t meet very often and that’s why I always loved it. I had a great time while I was Out&About in Orlando, Florida for a few days last weekend. It was my Father’s Day gift to visit Disney World with the family and boy did I have a good time. Yes! of course I got a little bit of sunburn even though I was being careful by not lying down in the sun by the pool. Oh! I almost forgot to tell you that we stayed in the Four Seasons, Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World that was only beautiful.
Before I get to the big part of my Out&About the resort has all the amenities you ever need, swimming pool, spa, fitness center, restaurants and bars and all the time for relaxation that you might need. Not forgetting that with the family we got to meet all the Disney characters, Goofy, Mickey Mouse. Minnie Mouse with lots of their friends as well, ahh we all had some fun.
When you stay at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, you’ll be a one-mimute drive from the Resort. This friendly resort is 4.8 miles from Magic Kingdom Park and also near Epcot with lots and lots of fun rides plus lots more to enjoy.
Now to let you know who I met in the hotel, none other than football’s (soccer’s) greatest super star Harry Kane, who now plays as a striker for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and also captains the England national team .He is widely regarded as one of the greatest strikers of his generation, he is Tottenham Hotspur’s and England’s all-time top goal scorer and the Premier League’s second -highest all-time goal scorer, having scored over 400 senior career goals. Now that I have giving all of his history, he is also a total gentleman and gave all his time even though he was in between his training while he stayed at the Four Seasons Resort with all his team and coaches from Bayern Munich as they are now on tour of America for the FIFA Club World Cup. He was so down to earth as he told me his father Patrick Kane was born in County Galway and that his grandparents were Connemara Gaeltacht from Galway and he is very proud of it as well. So, I had a nice chat with him when I asked him could we have a photo and he of course, since it was for a Corkman he actually took the photo and said thank you before he headed off, now isn’t that fabulous! These are the nice things I really like about being Out&About as you never know who you’re going to meet.

This came to me from The Grand Emerald Society Council who extended its heartfelt congratulations to Edward P. Boles, recipient of the GCUES 2020-2021 Irishman of the Year and Aide to the Grand Marshal, for his remarkable 32 years of steadfast dedication to FDNY, the citizens of New York City, and your invaluable contributions to the Labor and Emerald movement. “We wish you the best in your retirement and all your future endeavors,” they said, “Sláinte Eddie!”
I am going to finish off my Out&About with some very sad new on a friend of mine and my family at home in Cork who passed away after a very short illness. His name was Oliver(Ollie) Morey from Ballincollig, Cork/Greenmount, Cork. He passed away peacefully in the Cork University Hospital on Monday June 15th, RIP.
That’s it for this weeks Out&About, I hope to see you all next week when I’m Out&About again…
