For 28 years, The Irish Rock Revue has hosted extraordinary guests at sold out venues including Lincoln Center, Bowery Ballroom, Highline Ballroom, The Public Theatre, City Winery, Webster Hall. Now, The All-Star Irish Rock Revue brings it all back home in a return to the Rockaways where their cavalcade of stars last performed at 2019 Rockaway Fest.
Join the All-Star Irish Rock Revue’s celebration of Irish-tinged rock music and related tunes with Rogue’s March and a starry cast of hundreds all the way out oceanside. These NYC stars sing the great Irish songbook featuring R&R Hall Of Famers, NYC musical luminaries, Tony and Emmy winners, Rockaway royalty and very special unannounced guests performing classics such as Thin Lizzy, U2, Van Morrison, The Pogues, Denys Midnight Runners, The Undertones, Sinead O’Connor, Rory Gallagher, The Dubliners, Johnny Lydon (nee’ Rotten), Shane MacGowan and many more.
The Fest is run by AOH 21, with all proceeds going to charity, (2025 recipients include The ‘Rockaway Special Olympians’) and has raised over $600,000 for charity in last decade.
Hurley’s All-Star Irish Rock Revue will hit the stage at 3:30pm in a three-hour long extravaganza. Confirmed artists include R&R Hall Of Famer Ricky Byrd (Joan Jett), The Bogmen’s Billy Campion and Billy Ryan, ‘Soul Man’ Carlton J Smith, Eamon Rush of Pan Arcadia, Sam Harris of The Dead Boys, Sherryl Marshall (Denis Leary, Buster Poindexter) Tricia Scotti (Bruce Springsteen, Joey Ramone) , Richard Dev Greene, Mike Fornatale (Left Bank) Jesse Bates (Los Dudes) Tony Zajkowski (Lotion) Felice Rosser of FAITHNYC, Blythe Gruda, Rachel Loshak, Liam Benjamin ( ‘Once The Musical’) and Alexis Babini, (‘The Little Mermen). Amanda Mottur, and ‘Rockaway Royalty’ are the peninsula’s greats who join the Revue once again which includes Mike Beasy, Danny Mulvanerty and Bobby Butler of Indaculture.
The London-bred Irish-blooded Hurley leads two bands, Rogue’s March and The Gents. He’s also founded and now curates The All-Star Irish Rock Revue. Hurley, Keith Richards and Johnny Depp won two Audie Awards for their narration of the 23 CD Box-Set Bestseller ‘LIFE’ including ‘Audiobook Of The Year. Hurley’s ballad ‘Amsterdam Mistress’ is featured on Sony Music’s ‘ “Whiskey In The Jar-Essential Irish Songs” alongside classics from the Pogues, The Dubliners and The Clancys.
He is also the Artistic Director of Joe Hurley’s OurLand Fest, a Celebration of Irish Culture In America. The 3 Stage Fest debuted at Lincoln Center, and was the subject of two PBS TV Specials that featured the All-Star Irish Rock Revue as its finale.
Hurley has sung and/or recorded with The Chieftains, Shane MacGowan, Flogging Molly, PJ Harvey, Sam Shepard, Jimmy Webb, Tony Visconti, Judy Collins, among the many. He also recorded and toured the USA and Europe with Irish novelist Colum McCann for their CD inspired by McCann’s NBA winner, “Let The Great World Spin.”
Hurley has produced and performed sold out concerts at Lincoln Centre, Central Park Summerstage, The Delacorte Theatre, The Public Theater, Vans Warped Tour, Guinness Fleadhs , Belfast Fleadh, Deauville Film Festival, and was recently Musical Artist In Residence at The Berlin International LiteraturFest.
But he’s at his best when hosting one of his Rock Revue shows. Jpin him and the many this Saturday, June 7th from 3:30-6:30pm, out in the Rockaways.
