Legendary Irish Singer, Television Presenter And Philanthropist Daniel O’Donnell Embarks On Historic US Tour This Week

I have just interviewed one of Ireland top super star Daniel O’Donnell and what a gentleman he is too.
Daniel said he is very happy the way the North American tour is going as he is now playing states like Ohio, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Florida that he has never been before so it’s all new to him.

I did also ask him about the musicians that he has backing him and believe me he has the cream of the crop.

He is so much looking forward to be performing at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, PA and also the NYCB Theatre at Westbury, New York, the reason being is that he has a lot of cousins along with his big fan base who will be turning up for both concerts and so will I.

I did also ask him why there was so much talent that has come out of Donegal and he was very humble in his answers.
I did mention one or two of them like his sister Margo who played a show I promoted call the Country & Western Jamboree that was a great success back in the late 70s and I also mentioned Rory Gallagher, who was born Ballyshannon, County Donegal and brought up in Cork at a very young age.

He is such a gentleman to interview and so down to earth that I can’t wait to see him perform when he comes to New York and hopefully meet him as well.

O’Donnell is an Irish singer, television presenter, and philanthropist, born in Kincasslagh, County Donegal, Ireland.
He is known for his distinctive tenor voice and a repertoire that includes a variety of musical styles, including country, pop, and Irish folk.

Daniel O’Donnell rose to fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s with a string of successful albums and singles.
He gained popularity not only in Ireland but also in the United Kingdom and other parts of the world, particularly among Irish and country music fans.

Over the years, Daniel has released numerous albums, many of which have achieved multi-platinum status.
Some of his well-known songs include “I Just Want to Dance With You,” “Give a Little Love,” and “The Magic Is There.”

He has collaborated with various artists and has a significant fan base, often referred to as “Daniel’s Dancers.”

Apart from his music career, O’Donnell has hosted several television shows, including “The Daniel O’Donnell Show.”

He is also involved in charitable work and has supported various causes.

His enduring popularity and contributions to the music industry have made him a respected figure in the Irish music scene.

Daniel said recently that “what the future holds for me I don’t know. Right now, I intend to enjoy every moment of the wonderful opportunities that are starting to come my way in America.

“It is a great surprise at this stage of my career to be branching out in new directions, while still enjoying a loyal following in the other places I have been performing all of my life since I embarked on this wonderful journey.

“A sincere thank you to everyone who makes it possible for me to live this dream and I hope our paths will cross along the way.

“There are no words to describe the feelings that I get from an audience when I perform on stage. It is heaven on earth to me.

“Without the people who follow me I would not have this life. They say that when you’re doing a job that you love, you never work a day in your life. Well, that is certainly the case with me. I have never worked since I became an entertainer.

So, I have a great respect and great love for the people who follow Daniel O Donnell the entertainer.

“I have been lucky to receive many awards, but the one I hold dearest to my heart is the ‘Donegal Person of the Year’.n That still rates as the best award I have received during my career.

“Why is it so special? Well, it’s because it honors me as a person from Donegal. I love Donegal more than anywhere else in the world. To think that honor was mine in 1989!

“Another entertainment award that means a lot to me is the Irish Entertainer of the Year’, which I’ve won three times, in 1989, 1992 and 1996. It means so much to me because it’s also an award that’s voted for by the people.

“I’ve always loved meeting the people after shows. Sometimes now I feel that I am meeting people too quickly and I would love to be able to say, ‘We need to slow this down’. I know we can’t slow it down because you’d be there all night. I do a long show and meeting people is not the norm for the majority of performers. So, I know we have to keep it quick and that I can just go and say a quick ‘Hello’ to people and have a picture taken.”

I can only tell you that he is one of the most down to earth entertainers that I have ever got to meet and the great thing about him is that he never forgets where he came from, even with all his success.

Tickets are now available for his shows and The Keswick Theatre in Glenside, PA and The NYCB Theatre at Westbury, NY.

Again, in case you did not know, Daniel’s career spans more than 30 years, racking up over 15 million album sales worldwide.

The Donegal based singer, who is one of the most prolific and successful recording artists in the UK charts, is the only artist in the world to score a hit in the UK album charts every year since 1988, an unprecedented and unbroken 35-year span and, in doing so, he has outshone everyone from Michael Jackson and Madonna, to U2 and the Rolling Stones.

Now is he just outstanding? I already know his fans will be out in droves so you better hurry up and get your tickets before they’re all sold out and they will be.
