Siobhan Dennehy of the Emerald Isle Immigration Center has let us know that there is a relief fund opportunity for restaurant workers by ROAR (Relief Opportunities for All Restaurants) and the Robin Hood Foundation. It is a one-time grant of $500 for restaurant workers. It is on a first-come, first served basis and will be open until funds are exhausted.
Currently, the relief fund is open to residents of the Bronx and Queens until December 14. On December 14, the application will be opened up to all 5 boroughs. The application is available in English and Spanish. There are no questions regarding immigration status. They ask for verification through picture ID with address to ensure that the applicants live within the 5 boroughs. Applicants should have ALL of their information ready when filling out the application because they cannot save and return to complete the form.
You can apply for relief at https://fund.uptogether.org/ROAR
