Farage Denies That He’s Joining The DUP

Former UKIP Leader Nigel Farage has attempted to distance himself from rumors he was about to join the DUP.

The English MEP is in Belfast today for a fundraiser with the party, but tweeted to say nothing was changing.

“Happy to be on my way to Northern Ireland having worked with the DUP in the referendum,” he said.

“I was elected as a UKIP MEP. I lead the EFDD group in Europarl and none of that is going to change!”

He will be joined in Belfast by co-founder of Leave.EU, Aaron Banks, who would not comment on the rumors.

“Well that’s something that you’ll have to ask Nigel.

We’re attending a DUP fundraiser, I’m sure Nigel will have comments at the dinner.

“I think he’s mainly focused on the Brexit border issues and I’m sure he’s going to make his feelings known.”

The event is being hosted by DUP MPs Ian Paisley, Sammy Wilson and Paul Girvan.
