What a great scoop for the promoters MCD in Dublin, Ireland and great news for Lionel Richie fans as the legendary singer has just announced that he is coming to Dublin next summer. The hitmaker will bring his Hello! tour to Dublin’s St. Anne’s Park on June 6 of next year in what is sure to be a memorable night.
Richie will be performing such hits as Endless Love, All Night Long and Hello on the night. From what we are told tickets are due to go on sale this Friday, November 8 at 9am and unsurprisingly, they’re not going to be cheap.
Eileen Ivers is an Irish-American musician. She was born in New York City of Irish-born parents on 13 July 1965 and grew up in The Bronx. She spent summers in Ireland and took up the fiddle at the age of nine. Her teacher was Irish fiddler Martin Mulvihill. She toured with Mick Moloney’s band The Green Fields of America, founded in 1977.
She has won nine All Ireland’s to date in Fiddle, and one in banjo. She is currently signed to Sony records and has been hailed as the “Jimi Hendrix of the violin.” In live performances Ivers is known to hook her violin up to distortion pedals creating a timbre that resembles an electric guitar.
You will be hearing a lot from Eileen in 2020 as her popularity has grown so much to bring her to stardom that is well deserved.
Cherish the Ladies have been at the forefront of leading Irish Traditional groups for many years. I have to say that they are so successful that they play all over the world, now how proud is that. The past years have seen the group touring all over North and South America, the United Kingdom and Europe, China, Australia and New Zealand performing in the finest concert halls and international festivals.
They are equally at home in front of a symphony orchestra, a performing arts center, a folk festival or even a command performance for the President at the White House. The current lineup, along with group leader Joanie Madden and founding member Mary Coogan from New York on guitar, consists of All-Ireland Champion Mirella Murray from Connemara in County Galway on accordion; fiddler Grainne Murphy from Boston; and piano player and harmony singer Kathleen Boyle from Glasgow, Scotland.
