Out & About

The Festivities all started on Saint Patrick’s Day eve with one of the best events in the city of New York with the Ireland US Council lunching at the Metropolitan Club (on 60th Street between Madison and Fifth Avenue).
This is a networking lunch with the cream of the Irish Diaspora attending and is always the hottest ticket in town.
The man behind the event is none other than David O’Sullivan who works very hard and brings the Irish business world together to celebrate our historic day and if I had to mention the who’s who that attended it would take up the whole paper; now that’s how good it is.
The Saint Patrick’s Day Foundation NYC’s Annual Gala Dinner honoring Loretta Brennan Glucksman, Grand Marshal of the 2018 New York City Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, followed that evening, held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel (109 East 42nd Street) and again this was a sellout dinner from 6.30pm to 10pm.
The featured performance was by World renowned Soprano Mary Dunleavy, so I’m reallysorry I missed this one, ah well.
Yes, I am coming down from seeing one of the best Saint Patrick’s Day Parades in New York City that I have ever seen. You could not have planned it any better and the parade went off with out a hitch and to see our Grand Marshal Loretta Brennan Glucksman leading up front riding in a horse and carriage topped it all off.
As I promised we had sunshine for the whole day and the atmosphere all around was in high sprits from the marchers to the parade viewers… fabulous!
Again Tommy Smyth and Treasa Goodwin Smyth the television broadcasters for the parade were a big hit again as well; now what a great husband and wife duo now where would yea get it, a very professional team.
