Andy and his band will be doing a special Mother’s Day weekend event running from May 10th to the 12th at the Sunny Hill Resort (352 Sunny Hill Road, Greenville, New York; (518) 634-7642).
The weekend package is only $298 and that includes an early check in on Friday May 10th, a cocktail party on Friday evening beginning at 5pm with complimentary drinks and hosted by Andy himself, golf, five meals including Mother’s Day Brunch. Now where else would you get a deal like that.
I do have a bit of sad news to report as a friend of mine Dave Cremin and his brothers have headed back to Cork City because their Mom just passed away after a short illness in Cork, RIP.
I had the pleasure of meet Mrs. Cremin when she visited New York on a few occasions and what a great fun lady she was too. We all will miss her so much.
If you have not gone to see the movie Maze yet go and see it and you will understand what they had to go though in the H block in Northern Ireland not too long ago.
It was one of the greatest tragedies that had ever happened during the troubles in the 70s.
Up Tipp and I do mean the County Tipperary P. & B. Association of New York, Inc. who will be holding their 145th Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Banquet on Saturday April 13th (and if I did not give them a plug Therese Crowe would be on my case, so here we go).
The banquet will be held at The Riverview (1 Warburton Avenue Hastings-on-Hudson, New York) with the cocktail hour beginning at 7 pm followed by dinner and dancing from 8pm to midnight.
Their Guest of Honor is Michael Ryan from Upperchurch/Drombane, Co. Tipperary and music will be provided by the Kitty Kelly Band.
I know this is going to be a great night so do try and attend.
Here is a really worthwhile event for you all to attend as it is for a worthy cause. Join the fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and help Archie (12-years-old) and his twin brothers George and Isaac (8-years-old) survive the disease by attending a fundraiser that will be held this Saturday, March 30th, starting at 3pm at the Elks Lodge (82-20 Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst).
They’ll have face painting, arts and crafts, schools of Irish dance, hot food, live music till Late, a jiving competition,a Chinese Auction, raffles and door prizes.
If you are unable to attend, but would like to lend your support then you can donate online at www.joinourboys.org. No donation is too small, and all are gratefully appreciated!
For more information contact Mary Montgomery at (718) 229-8292, Jimmy Naughton on (718) 549-9946 or email JoinOurBoysNY@gmail.com.
Did you miss Celtic Woman, who were here last weekend? Well you missed a great show because they were just fabulous; as we would say in Ireland they were showstoppers.
Finally, I have been telling you for the last few weeks to book early for the O’Casey trilogy of plays at the Irish Rep. Well here’s your last chance as they are not to be missed. Visit www.irishrep.org to book your tickets now
I hope to see you all again next week when I am Out&About again.
