\"\"A man has appeared in court in Belfast accused of trying to meet a child after a grooming attempt.<\/p>\n

Paul Pius Lynch, 52, with an address on the Falls Road in west Belfast, has been charged with attempting to meet a child following child grooming and attempted sexual communication with a child on August 22.<\/p>\n

Lynch, who is unemployed, did not have any legal representation on Saturday morning as he appeared in the dock of Belfast Magistrates\u2019 Court.<\/p>\n

A detective constable indicated he believes he can connect the accused with the charges.<\/p>\n

Lynch indicated from the dock that he would not be applying for bail.<\/p>\n

The accused also said he intends to plead guilty to the charges.<\/p>\n

District Judge Steven Keown said the Public Prosecution Service is \u201cnot yet in a position to take a plea\u201d, adding \u201cyou should really speak to a solicitor about this case, but that\u2019s a matter for you\u201d.<\/p>\n

The judge told the court: \u201cMr Lynch has made certain indications in the dock, the prosecution may wish to take a note of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lynch was remanded into custody and will next appear before the court by videolink on August 28.<\/p>\n
