One of, if not the, largest event in the American publishing world, Book Expo America<\/strong> is returning to the Javits Center<\/strong> on May 29 – 31st, 2019<\/strong>, along with its consumer counterpart, Book Con<\/strong> on June 1st and 2nd, 2019. These two events really put the spotlight on publishing, whether in print or digitally, and offers an opportunity to get caught up on new releases, the stars and personalities who have reigned over publishing or are the up-and-comers.<\/p>\n

Book Expo focuses on the industry side of the publishing world with panels and lectures for publishers, libraries, and book stores looking to grow. Educational sessions discuss topics such as the new wave of international fiction, the rise of graphic novels aimed at kids, how to perfect digital marketing campaigns, library e-book lending, how to raise a lifelong reader in a digital age, and more. Book Expo will also be sharing space with the New York Rights Fair for licensing international properties for books and more.<\/p>\n

Possibly the highlight of the Expo will be \u201cAn Evening with Justice Sonia Sotomayor<\/strong>” scheduled for Thursday, May 30th\u00a0from 6:15-7:15 pm. The Supreme Court Justice discusses her life and the experiences that led her to write her new book for young readers, “Just Ask: Be Different, Be Brave, Be You” which is Illustrated by celebrated artist Rafael L\u00f3pez, The book will be released in both English and Spanish editions by Penguin Young Readers on September 3, 2019.<\/p>\n

Book Con offers special guest authors and lecturers to meet and get autographs from including Adam Savage<\/strong>, Alyssa Milan<\/strong>o, Brittney Morris<\/strong>, Dylan Thuras<\/strong>, Evangeline Lilly<\/strong>, Marie Lu<\/strong>, Frank Miller,<\/strong> and many more. Writing Workshops will help you aspiring authors to get that story that’s always been in your head onto paper, while the Family HQ space is geared towards readers of all ages.<\/p>\n
