{"id":6150,"date":"2019-03-08T09:07:54","date_gmt":"2019-03-08T14:07:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/?p=6150"},"modified":"2019-03-11T09:09:00","modified_gmt":"2019-03-11T14:09:00","slug":"dr-colin-hunt-takes-over-as-ceo-of-aib","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/?p=6150","title":{"rendered":"Dr Colin Hunt Takes Over as CEO of AIB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/ColinHuntAIBCEO_large.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6151\" srcset=\"https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/ColinHuntAIBCEO_large.jpg 600w, https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/ColinHuntAIBCEO_large-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>Dr Colin Hunt has been appointed as the CEO and Executive Director of AIB.<\/p>\n<p>He replaces Bernard Byrne who will step down from his executive duties today and who will leave the company on April 26 to join Davy Group as head of its Capital Markets division.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Hunt joined AIB in August 2016 as Managing Director of the Wholesale, Institutional &#038; Corporate Banking Division.<\/p>\n<p>He has previously undertaken roles at Macquarie Capital, the Departments of Transport and Finance; Research Director, Goodbody Stockbrokers, Bank of Ireland and NatWest.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement today, AIB said the regulatory fitness and probity assessment process and consultation with the Minister for Finance of Ireland in respect of the proposed appointment of Dr Hunt as CEO had concluded successfully.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the appointment, AIB\u2019s Chairman, Richard Pym said: \u201cThe Board are delighted to appoint Colin as the new CEO of AIB.
