Solskjaer, who will be at the Old Trafford helm for the remainder of the season, told MUTV in his first interview: \u201cIt\u2019s great. It feels like coming home, I have to say. It\u2019s been a few whirlwind days, of course, it\u2019s been very hectic, but it\u2019s just great to see everyone again.\u201d<\/p>\n
Asked if he could make an impact in his time in charge, Solskjaer replied: \u201cWell, it\u2019s six months and I\u2019m going to enjoy the ride. I\u2019m back home, if you like, and it\u2019s about seeing the players, seeing the staff. It\u2019s about just being myself.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know the club is now running a process to find the next manager, so I\u2019m just going to be myself in the meantime with Mick (Phelan) and Kieran (McKenna) and Michael (Carrick) and the rest of the staff.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll just get the players enjoying football, and I\u2019m looking forward to seeing he supporters again.\u201d<\/p>\n
Solskjaer arrival comes with United preparing for four games in 11 days over the Christmas period, and he has challenged his players to show what they can do during that busy period.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cYou certainly get to see the players in a game, in a pressure situation, but I think the amount of games coming up is no problem because you\u2019ve got this amazing squad of players.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have got 23, 24 players, they\u2019re all quality and they\u2019ll all get a chance now. With the amount of games coming up, they have got a chance to show that they are Manchester United players.\u201d<\/p>\n
The club currently sits in sixth place in the Premier League table, 19 points adrift of leaders Liverpool, and that is a situation Solskjaer hopes to address quickly.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cWe are in a results business and we want to win games, and that\u2019s our job. That\u2019s mine, Mick\u2019s, the staff\u2019s job to help the players do.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe just want to see them play the football they can do.\u201d<\/p>\n
Solskjaer promised every player he has inherited from Mourinho will be given a chance to prove his worth.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cEveryone in the squad knows that \u2018I\u2019ve got a chance now\u2019 because whatever has gone, whatever has happened has happened. Now it\u2019s just about from here.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone starts with a clean slate and we want players to perform, and we\u2019ll give them the chance.\u201d<\/p>\n
