Catherine O\u2019Hara joins Mark Hamill, Paula Malcomson and Barry Keoghan as a recipient of a US-Ireland Alliance Oscar Wilde Award. The event will be held on 1 March at J.J. Abrams\u2019 Bad Robot in Santa Monica.\nTrina Vargo, founder and president of the US-Ireland Alliance, said that, \u201cLast year, Catherine was a big hit in introducing honoree Martin Short. He\u2019s returning the favor this year and will roast, I mean present to, Catherine.\u201d
\nCatherine O\u2019Hara is a prolific, multi-award-winning actress, writer, and comedian whose film credits include lead and supporting roles in Beetlejuice, Home Alone, Home Alone 2: Lost in\u2008New York, After Hours, Heartburn, The Life Before This, Penelope, Away\u2008We Go, Where The Wild Things Are, A.C.O.D., The Right Kind of Wrong and many more.
\nO\u2019Hara has collaborated with Christopher Guest and co-writer Eugene Levy four times on the critically acclaimed mockumentary films Waiting for Guffman, Best in\u2008Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration. Her performance in the latter won her the 2007 National Board of Review Award for Supporting Actress.
\n O\u2019Hara has made many guest appearances on top-rated television series including Six Feet Under and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Her role in HBO\u2019s Temple Grandin earned her Primetime Emmy, Satellite and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.
\nShe recently finished wrapping Season 4 of the hit CBC series, Schitt\u2019s Creek, alongside Eugene Levy, Dan Levy and Chris Elliott.
\nLast year she received a Canadian Screen Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance on the show.
\nO\u2019Hara first performed with Toronto\u2019s Second City Theatre and later, with fellow alumni including, Eugene Levy, created the iconic sketch comedy show SCTV.
