\"\"It\u2019s almost time for the New York City Marathon<\/strong> which will be held on Sunday November 4. Let me tell yea, it\u2019s 26 grueling miles through the whole Metropolitan area starting in Staten Island. <\/p>\n

No I have not run in it, but lots of my friends did and let me tell you again you need to be in good shape. Now, why I am telling you this is because a great friend of mine Garrett Doyle<\/strong> will be running this year for a favorite charity of his.<\/p>\n

One of his goals since he arrived here in America 24 years ago has been to run the Marathon. He has teamed up\u00a0with a wonderful local charity Children\u2019s Aid, which aims to provide comprehensive support to at-risk children and families in the city. <\/p>\n

He is asking you for your financial support and you can pledge by visiting www.crowdrise.com\/garrett-doyle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Garret is the past present of United Irish Counties<\/strong> and the Emerald Guild Associations<\/strong> and if you could please be so kind as to share this information with your friends, he would greatly appreciate it.<\/p>\n

He would like to invite you to their after-party celebration at Tuttles Bar and Grill<\/strong> on November 4 from 4pm. Please stop by to enjoy complimentary food and beverage. It will either be quite the celebration or a wake, and I know that Pat Brady<\/strong> already has his eulogy prepared. It looks like a party after a party so I\u2019d better check it out and hope that Garrett will finish in style, up ya boyo.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Irish Repertory Theatre<\/strong> has announced two additional performances to the sold-out run of On Beckett<\/strong>, conceived and performed by Tony Award winner\u00a0Bill Irwin<\/strong>. On Beckett, which explores the writings of Nobel Prize winner\u00a0Samuel\u00a0Beckett\u00a0(Waiting for Godot, Endgame), began performances on September 26 at\u00a0Irish Repertory Theatre\u00a0(132 West 22nd\u00a0Street) on the\u00a0Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage<\/strong>, and opened on October 3 for a run through November 4. <\/p>\n

The additional performances will be Tuesday, October 23 at 7pm and Tuesday, October 30 at 7pm. The cast of On Beckett includes Irwin and, in his Irish Rep debut, Finn O\u2019Sullivan<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The Irish Repertory just keep turning out one hit show after another and On Beckett is a prime example so book your ticket before they are all gone and you will be not be disappointed, remember I told you so. <\/p>\n

This man never stops dancing and it looks like he dances to work and everywhere else I am sure. I do have to say that he is one of the best performers on this side of the Atlantic and he deserves a lot of credit. Yes, his name is Niall O\u2019Leary<\/strong> and look what he has done over the last weekend unbelievable… The 2018 Manhattan Dance Marathon<\/strong> (#MDM18) was a fundraising event organized by the Niall O\u2019Leary School of Irish Dance<\/strong>. The Marathon ran from 2pm to 2am, dancing in many of Manhattan\u2019s Irish bars as possible in one day. Each performance features 5 minutes of high-energy Irish dance featuring dancers from the school.<\/p>\n

They were raising money for students\u2019 costumes and travel to competitions near and far, including the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships this fall and the World Irish Dance Championships in the spring. <\/p>\n

2pm to 2am, Dancing in all the REAL Irish bars in Manhattan, raising funds for dancers in the Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance, New York City. How did he do it? Congratulations Niall, keep it going. <\/p>\n

Yes the one and only master Van Morrison<\/strong>\u00a0is releasing a new album in early December called The Prophet Speaks<\/strong>. The first single, the title track, is out now.<\/p>\n

The Prophet Speaks\u00a0is Van Morrison\u2019s 40th\u00a0studio album and will be released on December 7th on Caroline International<\/strong>. This fourteen track album follows a recent run of hugely acclaimed albums (Roll With The Punches, Versatile\u00a0and\u00a0You\u2019re Driving Me Crazy), each of which has delved deep into the musical styles that have continued to inspire Van throughout his life \u2013 vocal jazz and R&B. <\/p>\n

Here, Van takes on a series of unarguable classics by the likes of John Lee Hooker, Sam Cooke and Solomon Burke (among others) and makes them unmistakably his own. Alongside these reinterpretations,\u00a0The Prophet Speaks\u00a0features six phenomenal new Van Morrison compositions.<\/p>\n

Van Morrison\u00a0says of The Prophet Speaks: \u201cIt was important for me to get back to recording new music as well as doing some of the blues material that has inspired me from the beginning. Writing songs and making music is what I do, and working with great musicians makes it all the more enjoyable.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Prophet Speaks\u00a0again finds Van working with the incredible multi-instrumentalist Joey DeFrancesco<\/strong> (the artist co-credited on\u00a0You\u2019re Driving Me Crazy)\u00a0and his band (including Dan Wilson<\/strong> on guitar, Michael Ode<\/strong> on drums and Troy Roberts<\/strong> on tenor saxophone).The album can be pre-ordered on all platforms including iTunes, Amazon and\u00a0www.vanmorrison.com<\/a><\/p>\n
