I was Out&About in Manhattan last week and I called into McCarthy\u2019s<\/strong>, an authentic Irish pub conveniently located in Times Square on West 46th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. I was there to meet some people for a pint when who walked in, only one of the owners himself Kieran Green<\/strong>, and guess what he gave me? One of the McCarthy\u2019s T-shirts, now that was nice of him, I wonder if it is because of my name McCarthy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It must have been as it is a beautiful shirt. I will tell you that I have been in quite a lot of bars, pubs and restaurants but this one takes the biscuit as there\u2019s a real Irish feel to this establishment, so pay them a visit, you won\u2019t be disappointed. They also have a very nice lounge upstairs as well with its own bar for private parties and more, so yes, I do recommend going there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now here is an event that I know I won\u2019t miss and that you cannot miss as you, yes you, reading this are cordially invited\u00a0to the Installation Reception honoring, the Aides to the Grand Marshal of the\u00a0263rd New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade<\/strong>. And yes, you will get to meet Maggie Timoney<\/strong>, 2024\u2019s Grand\u00a0Marshal. This will all happen at the superb \u00a0Antun\u2019s <\/strong>catering venue (96-43 Springfield Blvd. in Queens Village) on Sunday February 25 at 3 pm. Now I\u2019ve told you so hurry up and get your tickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I got this announcement a little bit late and when you read this I\u2008hope you can still make the event or make a donation as we are been read near and far, so here we go. HOPE <\/strong>is well known in Ireland and we would like to make it as well known here in the States as well. I hope you all see this in time with this great news again that I will be attending this event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HOPE was founded in Ireland by Maureen Forrest<\/strong>. This will be a very special evening, marking\u00a025\u00a0years of\u00a0HOPE\u2019s\u00a0\u00a0lifesaving work with street connected children and slum dwelling communities in Kolkata<\/strong>. We would be\u00a0 really grateful if you could attend and celebrate with us. We will enjoy the company of\u00a0HOPE\u00a0friends, food, drinks, auction, raffle, live entertainment, and the honoring of special guests, including HOPE\u2019s Board members Sheila Geraghty<\/strong> and Mei Mei Fox<\/strong>. All funds raised on the evening will go towards funding\u00a0HOPE\u2019s programs in Kolkata. The event will be held this Wednesday, January 31, from 6.30 pm till 9.30 pm at The\u00a0American Irish Historical Society<\/strong>\u00a0(991 Fifth Avenue).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
