It\u2019s all happening right now as one the biggest pre\u2013Saint Patrick\u2019s Day celebrations will begin at Antun\u2019s<\/strong>, the in place to be right here in Queens Village. I am invited and so looking forward to it as it is going to be house full again and anybody that\u2019s everybody will be there. The New York City Saint Patrick\u2019s Day Parade<\/strong> board of directors have done their job up to now and it\u2019s getting exciting as we are all looking forward to a great evening. \u201cThe Board of Directors thanks the affiliate organizations for selecting dedicated and distinguished group of dedicated Irish Americans,\u201d said Parade Chairman Sean Lane<\/strong>. \u00a0\u201cThey will join our Grand Marshal, Kevin J. Conway<\/strong>, in leading us past St. Patrick\u2019s Cathedral<\/strong> and up Fifth Avenue on Friday, March 17.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis year we have a bishop, the leader of the NYPD\u2019s Police Benevolent Association Union<\/strong>, the Nation Vice-President of sales at Heineken, USA<\/strong>, the New York State President of the LAOH<\/strong>, a Deputy Chief from the Fire Department of New York<\/strong>, a person who has worked with world renowned TV & movie producers and the person who has led the 69th\u00a0Regiment<\/strong> for the past 33 years as the regimental Pipe Major. An unbelievable selection of spectacular Irish Americans!\u201d said Hilary Beirne<\/strong> who introduced the Aides at the Parade delegate\u2019s meeting on Thursday, January 5. The Aides to the Grand Marshal for the 2023 St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade are:\u00a0Grand Council of United Emerald Societies Aide: Patrick J. Lynch,\u00a0Queens County Aide:\u00a0Mark Edwards,\u00a0New York County Aide:\u00a0Sean Claffey,\u00a0Knights of St Patrick Aide:\u00a0John Doolan,\u00a0Suffolk County Aide:\u00a0Agnes O\u2019Leary,\u00a0Nassau County Aide:\u00a0John R. O\u2019Brien,\u00a0Bronx County Aide:\u00a0Jack (John) McCarrick,\u00a0Richmond County Aide:\u00a0Michael J. Mc Keever,\u00a0Westchester County Aide:\u00a0Peter G. The 2023 Grand Marshal, Kevin J. Conway\u00a0is a long time New Yorker residing on Long Island with his wife Denise <\/strong>and their children. Mr. Conway is very proud of his Irish Heritage tracing his multigenerational heritage to Counties Leitrim, Cork, Meath and Limerick.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin Conway is the vice chairman of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, LLC<\/strong> a global private equity firm that he joined in 1997. Prior to joining CD&R, he spent ten years with Goldman, Sachs & Co.<\/strong>, as a partner. Kevin Conway is the former chair and current vice chair of the board of directors of Student Sponsor Partners<\/strong>, an organization providing educational opportunities to at-risk inner-city children in New York City and is a Trustee of the Carnegie Corporation of New York<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He serves on the boards of Catholic Health Services of Long Island<\/strong>, and the New York Catholic Foundation<\/strong>, which administers funds for the Archdiocese of New York<\/strong> in pursuit of the religious, charitable, educational, and community services activities of the Archdiocese.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Conway and his Aides\u00a0will lead the approximate 200,000 marchers up Fifth Avenues in the 262nd\u00a0New York City\u2019s Saint Patrick\u2019s Day Parade on March 17.\u00a0The New York City St Patrick\u2019s Parade\u00a0marched\u00a0for\u00a0the first time in 1762, fourteen Years before the Declaration of Independence was signed in Independence Hall, Philadelphia.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Parade is regarded as the most popular of the all the Parades in New York City, and\u00a0honors Saint Patrick – the patron Saint of the Archdiocese of New York and Ireland.\u00a0\u00a0The New York Parade consists only of marchers and each year hosts some 250,000 marchers and two million spectators. The Parade has many outstanding marching bands, bagpipers in marching\u00a0formations, high-school and college bands from throughout the United States and from all over the world.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The occasion is televised live to millions of households nationwide\u00a0for\u00a0four hours by host station\u00a0WNBC Channel Four<\/strong>. The broadcast is webcast live via the internet through the Parade\u2019s web site at\u00a0NYCStPatricksParade.Org<\/a>\u00a0and WNBC Channel Four web site at\u00a0www.wnbc.com<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
