The Memorial Fund works to raise funds in support of a diverse group of worthy organizations across the island of Ireland that focus on a range of much needed\u00a0initiatives including expanding educational opportunities, helping families and children affected by serious illnesses, delivering social services to the elderly and fostering peace and understanding between people in troubled areas.<\/p>\n<p>Their next fundraising event, <strong>The Annual Eithne &#038; Paddy Fitzpatrick Memorial Golf Tournament<\/strong> will take place on Tuesday, September 28th at <strong>The Sleepy Hollow Country Club<\/strong>. The Fund was established by John Fitzpatrick in 1994 and I have to say great credit to him in what he has been doing along with running two hotels in Manhattan New York City. <\/p>\n<p>Founded in memory of Paddy and Eithne Fitzpatrick, the parents of John Fitzpatrick, to honor the charitable spirit they demonstrated throughout their lives, the fund\u2019s mission is to make a significant positive impact on the lives of those in need. They work to raise funds in support of a diverse group of worthy organizations that focus on a range of crucial initiatives including expanding educational opportunities, helping families and children affected by serious illnesses, delivering social services to the elderly and fostering peace and understanding between people in troubled areas. Gibbons<\/strong> in my last issue. George was born in Cong, Co Mayo, Ireland. Beloved husband of the late Mary, loving father of the late George his son, Siobhan McEntee, Brendan, Eamon, Maureen, Bernadette, also survived by 6 grandchildren and brother of Alice O\u2019Sullivan and Dorie Murphy, he was reposed at the Hess-Miller Funeral Home (64-19 Metropolitan Avenue Middle Village, NY on Friday. The Mass of Christian burial was at Our Lady of The Miraculous Medal Church on Saturday  followed by interment at St. John Cemetery. I have known George since I emigrated to the United States in 1982, he was again one of the first people to give me advice in how best to adapt to living in New York along with the late <strong>Joe Murphy<\/strong>, RIP. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/oa1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-22396\" srcset=\"https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/oa1.jpg 320w, https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/oa1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/>I just got the late news from the <strong>Irish Business Organization<\/strong> that a summer gathering is happening and open to all IBO members and friends to meet up this Thursday, July 15th for some informal summer happy hour gathering. Now here is the good news I am told that no RSVPs, no tickets, no speeches, only just friends getting together for a toast or two. So, join old friends and new on\u00a0Thursday from 6 pm to 8 pm\u00a0to \u201cNetwork, Communicate, Reciprocate\u201d at the\u00a0<strong>Fitzpatrick Grand Central Wheeltapper Pub<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; in their outdoor street-side space on\u00a044th Street at Lexington Ave.<\/p>\n<p>The night is not over yet though as you then head to the after party for the <strong>Irish Culture Night at Paddy Reilly\u2019s<\/strong> (519 2nd Avenue at 29th Street). There you will find Irish music and dance jam with the one and only\u00a0<strong>Niall O\u2019Leary<\/strong>\u00a0and friends, with special guest <strong>Jake James<\/strong>, all are welcome! Boy, this sounds like a good evening so I will try and join them for one or two cold ones, ah someone has to do it. <\/p>\n<p><strong>The Irish Repertory Theatre<\/strong> in association with <strong>Bonnie Timmermann<\/strong> presents another blockbuster called <strong>\u201cThe Cordelia Dream\u201d<\/strong> by <strong>Marina Carr<\/strong> and directed by <strong>Joe O\u2019Byrne<\/strong>. The show, starring <strong>Stephen Brennan<\/strong> and <strong>Danielle Ryan<\/strong> was filmed at The New Theatre in Dublin, Ireland and will be streamed from July 27th to August 8,2021 and reservations are now open. <\/p>\n<p>Carr, one of Ireland\u2019s most acclaimed living playwrights is the author of more than 20 published plays, and has won numerous awards, including\u00a0The Irish Times\u2019\u00a0playwright award.\u00a0The Cordelia Dream\u00a0was commissioned by The Royal Shakespeare Company closed their 2008 season at Wilton\u2019s Music Hall in London. A rehearsed reading was produced in November 2020 in Cork\u2019s Everyman Theatre. <\/p>\n<p>Reservations are free but required to access this digital event.
