{"id":22321,"date":"2021-07-09T09:11:57","date_gmt":"2021-07-09T13:11:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/?p=22321"},"modified":"2021-07-09T10:14:20","modified_gmt":"2021-07-09T14:14:20","slug":"fury-v-wilder-could-be-postponed-after-covid-reported-in-furys-camp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/?p=22321","title":{"rendered":"Fury v Wilder Could Be Postponed After Covid Reported In Fury&#8217;s Camp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/2.50692447.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"559\" height=\"360\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-22322\" srcset=\"https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/2.50692447.png 559w, https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/2.50692447-300x193.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 559px) 100vw, 559px\" \/>Tyson Fury\u2019s world heavyweight title defense against Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas later this month is reportedly set to be postponed due to a coronavirus outbreak in the champion\u2019s camp.<\/p>\n<p>A number of positive tests are said to have been recorded, with Fury\u2019s US-based promoters Top Rank expected to clarify the situation later on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>A court ruling in May forced Fury to ditch an immediate bout with Anthony Joshua and instead put his WBC title on the line in a third meeting with Wilder.<\/p>\n<p>Fury\u2019s team hoped to resurrect his bout with Joshua later this year, but those plans are now set to be postponed if the mandated meeting with Wilder is delayed.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua, meanwhile, is set to defend his IBF, WBA and WBO titles against Ukraine\u2019s Oleksandr Usyk in London on September 25th.<\/p>\n<p>Neither Fury nor Wilder have fought since February last year, when Fury scored a seventh round knockout to end the American\u2019s unbeaten record.<\/p>\n<p>Fury\u2019s team were not available for comment on Friday.
