{"id":14797,"date":"2020-05-24T10:40:10","date_gmt":"2020-05-24T14:40:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/?p=14797"},"modified":"2020-05-25T10:41:32","modified_gmt":"2020-05-25T14:41:32","slug":"cherries-confirm-that-one-of-their-players-tested-positive-for-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/?p=14797","title":{"rendered":"Cherries Confirm That One Of Their Players Tested Positive For Covid-19"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2.49742510.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14798\" srcset=\"https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2.49742510.jpg 600w, https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2.49742510-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>Bournemouth have announced one of their players has tested positive for coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>The Cherries confirmed the player has contracted the virus after the latest round of tests for top flight clubs.<\/p>\n<p>The Premier League announced on Saturday that there were two positive tests at two clubs from 996 tests conducted on Thursday and Friday.<\/p>\n<p>A Bournemouth statement read: \u201cAFC Bournemouth can confirm that one of its players has tested positive for Covid-19, following the club\u2019s second round of testing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMedical confidentiality means the player\u2019s name will not be disclosed, and the club asks for this to be respected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn line with Premier League protocols regarding positive tests, he will self-isolate for a period of seven days before being tested again at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing strict adherence of the Premier League\u2019s return to training regulations, the club\u2019s training ground remains a safe working environment for players and backroom staff, who will continue to be tested for Covid-19 twice per week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The unnamed Bournemouth player, and the other positive test, will now self-isolate for seven days.<\/p>\n<p>In the first round of testing six people were shown to have the virus, including Watford defender Adrian Mariappa and Burnley assistant manager Ian Woan.<\/p>\n<p>A Premier League statement on Saturday read: \u201cThe Premier League can today confirm that on Tuesday 19 May, Thursday 21 May and Friday 22 May, 996 players and club staff were tested for Covid-19.
