{"id":14767,"date":"2020-05-25T10:18:51","date_gmt":"2020-05-25T14:18:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/?p=14767"},"modified":"2020-05-25T10:18:51","modified_gmt":"2020-05-25T14:18:51","slug":"laliga-could-return-on-june-11-with-seville-derby","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/?p=14767","title":{"rendered":"LaLiga Could Return On June 11 With Seville Derby"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2.48752023.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2.48752023.jpg 600w, https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2.48752023-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>The Seville derby between Sevilla and Real Betis could be the opening fixture as LaLiga gears up to restart as early as June 11.<\/p>\n<p>Spanish sides are now involved in group training as they build towards a resumption, with the season having been suspended since March 12 due to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>League president Javier Tebas told Movistar\u2019s #BackToWin programme on Sunday: \u201cWhat\u2019s for certain is that it will start the weekend of June 12, or even on Thursday June 11.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not decided yet \u2013 we need to align the phases, meet with the Spanish football federation and the Spanish High Sports Council to finalize everything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tebas suggested the game could kick off at 4pm EDT (10pm local).<\/p>\n<p>Playing in the heat of a Spanish summer is something which administrators need to factor in, and Tebas said: \u201cOur plan for kick-off times during the week would be to play in the afternoon or evening, between 7.30-8pm or 9.30-10pm.
