{"id":14604,"date":"2020-05-14T16:45:07","date_gmt":"2020-05-14T20:45:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/?p=14604"},"modified":"2020-05-16T10:46:09","modified_gmt":"2020-05-16T14:46:09","slug":"mcilroy-commits-to-three-pga-events-in-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/?p=14604","title":{"rendered":"McIlroy Commits To Three PGA Events In June"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2.53396840.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14605\" srcset=\"https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2.53396840.jpg 600w, https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2.53396840-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>Rory McIlroy has committed to playing the first three events on the PGA Tour following its June 11 resumption.<\/p>\n<p>The world number one says he intends to compete at the Charles Schwab Challenge, RBC Heritage and Travelers Championship next month.<\/p>\n<p>McIlroy is taking part in the TaylorMade Driving Relief tournament in Florida on Sunday \u2013 a skins competition also featuring Dustin Johnson, Rickie Fowler and Matthew Wolff \u2013 and is keen to get back on the course after a two-month hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI guess I can\u2019t speak for everyone, but for me personally, I just want to get back out and play,\u201d McIlroy told the Golf Channel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo that\u2019s my plan, play the first three. I think it\u2019ll be nice to get back out there and play.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The PGA Tour announced its health and safety protocols this week ahead of the June 11 restart.<\/p>\n<p>The plans outline a strict testing regime and measures that will be in place surrounding each tournament, as well as \u201cstrong recommendations\u201d for travel and accommodation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously we\u2019re going to have to take as many precautions as possible to be able to put Tour events on again, but I think the PGA Tour has got a very robust plan in place,\u201d McIlroy added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they can execute it the right way, I see no reason why we can\u2019t start June 11.
