{"id":14364,"date":"2020-05-01T12:22:41","date_gmt":"2020-05-01T16:22:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/?p=14364"},"modified":"2020-05-03T09:23:30","modified_gmt":"2020-05-03T13:23:30","slug":"premier-league-clubs-vow-to-complete-2019-20-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/?p=14364","title":{"rendered":"Premier League Clubs Vow To Complete 2019\/20 Season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2.47910303.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14365\" srcset=\"https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2.47910303.jpg 600w, https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2.47910303-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>Premier League clubs reconfirmed their commitment to finishing the 2019-20 season amid the coronavirus pandemic at a shareholders\u2019 meeting on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Top-flight sides were briefed on the league\u2019s \u2018Project Restart\u2019 plans, with the professional game in England having been suspended since March 13.<\/p>\n<p>The league stressed that any return to training and match action would only happen if the Government gave the go-ahead.<\/p>\n<p>A statement read: \u201cThe league and clubs are considering the first tentative moves forward and will only return to training and playing with Government guidance, under expert medical advice and after consultation with players and managers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe league welcomed the creation of the Government medical working group for a return of elite sport, which met for the first time this morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo decisions were taken at today\u2019s shareholders\u2019 meeting and clubs exchanged views on the information provided regarding Project Restart.
