{"id":11106,"date":"2019-11-26T08:13:06","date_gmt":"2019-11-26T12:13:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/?p=11106"},"modified":"2019-11-26T11:13:59","modified_gmt":"2019-11-26T15:13:59","slug":"dave-king-to-stand-down-as-rangers-chairman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/?p=11106","title":{"rendered":"Dave King to Stand Down as Rangers Chairman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/2.40392603.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11107\" srcset=\"https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/2.40392603.jpg 600w, https:\/\/irishexaminerusa.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/2.40392603-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>Dave King has announced he is stepping down as Rangers chairman.<\/p>\n<p>King told the club\u2019s annual general meeting that he was quitting because Rangers had emerged from the \u201ccrisis\u201d he found when he and his allies gained control of the boardroom in March 2015.<\/p>\n<p>King said: \u201cThe hard work of recovery is now done and I intend to step down from the board in the new year as soon as the new funding round has been concluded by the sub-committee and the new devolved operating structure for the club that was approved yesterday has been fully implemented.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI estimate that will take about four months.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>King added: \u201cI would not step down if the club continued to need my services and support.
