It will feature an inclusive program of education, sport, debate, art and culture, his friends and family said.<\/p>\n
Foyle MP Elisha McCallion said: \u201cThis work will be carried out through Martin\u2019s vision of a united, agreed and peaceful Ireland by promoting understanding, equality, respect and reconciliation.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs part of the process, the foundation will also work to establish a fitting, permanent memorial to remember Martin.\u201d<\/p>\n
The former deputy first minister\u2019s son Fiachra said: \u201cWe want to make the Martin McGuinness Foundation a key part of my father\u2019s legacy as a leader, an activist and international statesman.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough the foundation we hope to tell the story of his life in the Bogside, his roots in Donegal \u2013 but also celebrate his commitment to bring about social, economic and political change.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are also delighted to announce that the third annual Chieftain\u2019s Walk will take place on Sunday March 29 2020 \u2013 the route will be confirmed in the near future.\u201d<\/p>\n
