Perfect as a way to close a dreary winter month, The New York Times Travel Show takes place this weekend at the Jacob Javits Center from January 25 – 27. Plan that dreamed-about summer excursion or investigate new destinations for travel adventures at this mainstay expo show.<\/p>\n

Opening the travel business day, a State of the Industry panel discussion presents a conversation with travel and tourism industry leaders. They will share their perspective on business practices that\u00a0 drive industry growth and increase traveler satisfaction. Throughout the weekend, there will also be a wealth of travel seminars for consumers to learn the ins and outs of going elsewhere. The Passport Pop-Up allows visitors to apply for or renew a U.S. passport right on the show floor.<\/p>\n

Then there’s the expo\u2019s Cultural Stages which host an array of performances and demonstrations from all over the world.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The Caribbean\/Latin American Stage\u00a0 presents a range of musical performances including artists from Guatemala. There will also be discussions on Guatemalan traveling and Dream Vacation giveaways.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The European Stage will have informational talks on visiting Rome, Italy, tour packages to see Portugal, and demonstrations of Irish dancing.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The Global Stage will have a live recording of \u201cFamily Travel Radio\u201d featuring special guests, presentations on Canadian marine travel, and traditional dancing from Botswana.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The Asian Stage has a cooking demonstration from Copper Throat Thai Cuisine, Chinese folk dances, and Japanese Taiko drum performances.<\/p>\n

The Travel Show also has book signings and a chance to meet your favorite travel authors including such notables as the Broadway cast of \u201cWaitress,\u201d Padma Lakshmi, Margaret Littman, Jason Frye, Melissa Clark, Stephanie Rosenbloom, and many more. On Friday, celebrity chef Lidia Bastianich and other important individuals from the Italian region of Calabria will celebrate its wines and cuisine and the release\u00a0 of the book, “The Journey of Lidia Bastianich To Calabria Wine And Food Itineraries.”<\/p>\n

And there\u2019s also a LGBTQ Travel Pavilion which highlights safe and fun travel packages for LGBTQ globetrotters; it also will present a discussion on travel insurance for LGBTQ travelers and their friends. And among the 500 exhibitors on the show floor, nearly 300 travel pros will be there to help guide visitors to all sorts of global destinations.<\/p>\n
