Hello to all our Out&About followers as I have not been out to often for the last two weeks for two reasons: one was that I was under the weather as I picked up a bug for which I had to take antibiotics for a week that helped me to get back in good health. The other was I had a lot of events that I wanted to bring to you, which I did, as I promised I would.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now that I am back with a lot going on for the Christmas holidays that I love as there is so much happening. I had to turn down a few events as I just could not make them as I was trying to get back to normal which again, I am now so I will have lots more gossip for you coming up over the next few weeks that I know you love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you read this, I will be attending the Liffey Van Lines Christmas Dinner<\/strong> that is always a super event at the famous Bobby Van\u2019s Steakhouse<\/strong> right by Grand Central Station. The who\u2019s who is always at this dinner and I thank the Moloney family and always remembering fondly the late Danny Maloney<\/strong>, RIP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join Loretto Horrigan Leary<\/strong>, Educational & Cultural Director for Ireland\u2019s Great Hunger Museum of Fairfield<\/strong> , on Saturday, December 13 at the Gaelic American Club<\/strong> in Fairfield CT at 7 pm for a special presentation on the Irish Famine Immigrants of Connecticut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This presentation reveals the often-overlooked stories of the Irish men, women, and children who fled An Gorta M\u00f3r and established new roots in Connecticut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drawing on archival records, burial sites, and community memory, Loretto traces how Famine survivors helped build the social, cultural, and economic foundations of towns across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through vivid storytelling and historical insight, this presentation examines the resilience of these early immigrants, the hardships they brought with them, and the enduring impact they had on Connecticut\u2019s identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hope to see you all again when I am Out&About as I should have some more pre-Christmas gossip and a bit of fun as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you all know by now Santa Claus is packing all his gifts for all who are not naughty and all those who are good; as you know it takes a lot of time to fill all those bags and he comes a long way from his house in the North Pole with Mrs. Claus who does all the work, so you better be nice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
