Celtic Are Riding High After Comeback Against Accies

Celtic went to the top of the League, ahead of Rangers on goal difference with a come from behind win against the Accies at Parkhead on Saturday.

Within three minutes Hamilton were ahead from a set piece, an Imrie corner headed back across goal to a waiting Mark McLaughlin, who simply diverted it into the back of the net.

The visitors could have had one or two more within minutes but Celtic's 'keeper Fraser Forster was on the top of his game and kept out shots from Hasselbaink and Mensing, after defensive mistakes let them both get shots off on target.

Shaun Maloney brought the scores level again in the 25th minute, heading the ball into the net after a corner from Ki Sung-Yeung.

Celtic now started to take control of the game, though the Accies were wasteful when they spurned a great scoring chance when Forster saved a header from Canning.

Maloney gave Celtic the lead in the 64th minute from a free kick and Hooper got their third with less than 20 minutes to go.

This means that Celtic have now won 15 straight league games under Neil Lennon.

Lennon, who was awarded the Clydesdale Bank Premier League Manager of the Month award for September was, however, less than pleased at the fact that the team couldn't keep a clean sheet, telling BBC Scotland that: "We've conceded from a set-piece and we've gone to sleep, not doing our jobs properly.

"And we had to rely on our goalkeeper to make some really good saves. We were slack defensively, but I got the response I was looking for.

"It's always a concern when you're slack and go to sleep at set-pieces and don't do your jobs properly.

"After 20 minutes we got a grip of the game and in the second half we were fine, but we can't start games like that.

"You can't just walk out onto the pitch and switch a light on, you have to prepare yourselves properly.

"We keep trying to drum it into them but, unfortunately at the minute, they don't seem to be taking it on board."

He was happier with the performance of the team when attacking though, saying, "Once we got a grip of the game our attacking play was okay.

"We created a lot of chances in the second half and really should've won the game by more goals.

"Although, I'm sure Billy Reid will say they could have been two or three up within 20 minutes."
