The Cork Clarion Achieves Top Euro Excellence Award

The Management and staff at The Clarion Hotel in Cork are celebrating the achievement of the Optimus/EFQM Business Excellence Award for 2009. The Clarion is the only hotel  in Ireland to be honoured with this prestigious award so far this year.

The hotel achieved this award through Failte Ireland's Optimus programme attaining the "Award of Excellence in 2009".

The Optimus programme aims to help tourism establishments attain excellence in every aspect of their business by providing a practical approach to boosting bottom-line performance and a focus on improving results.

Speaking of the award, Charlie Sheil, General Manager of The Clarion Hotel said, "Achieving this quality award has delivered real benefits to all aspects of the business. Through Optimus Business Excellence, the most important benefits are that we are thinking at a more strategic level and constantly driving excellence in the business through a continuous improvement process. We all understand the importance of each other's roles and this helps with overall productivity and teamwork.
