Spurs Comeback Shocks Chelsea At White Hart Lane

Red Devils Give Ferguson A Happy Anniversary

Fulham 1 Everton 0

In the early kick-off on Saturday, Fulham defeated Everton 1-0 at Craven Cottage, with Claus Jensen's 66th-minute goal - which took a big deflection off Toffees midfielder Lee Carsley - it was only The Toffees' second defeat of the campaign.

Manchester United 3 Portsmouth 0

It was a happy anniversary for Sir Alex Ferguson as he celebrated 20 years in charge at Old Trafford. Louis Saha opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 3rd minute after Dejan Stefanovic fouled Wayne Rooney in the box. Seven minutes later Ronaldo scored direct from a free-kick to make it 2-0. And the scoring was completed in the 65th minute when Vidic headed home Gary Neville's cross.

Newcastle United 0 Sheffield United 1

United bagged a well deserved 1-0 victory at St James' Park as striker Danny Webber headed a 68th-minute Nick Montgomery cross past Steve Harper. Glenn Roeder's side were booed from the pitch at the end of the game as the Toon Army turned on chairman Freddy Shepherd and the board.

Liverpool 2 Reading 0

Dirk Kuyt scored twice as Liverpool beat Reading 2-0 at Anfield. In the 14th minute Steven Gerrard crossed from the left and Peter Crouch nodded the ball down for the unmarked Kuyt to score. And in the 73rd minute Kuyt tapped in after Marcus Hahnemann had fumbled Crouch's header from a Pennant corner.

Watford 2 Middlesbrough 0

The Hornets took a sixth-minute lead when Jonathan Woodgate headed Gavin Mahon's throw into the path of Hameur Bouazza and the Frenchman's shot from 20 yards deflected off Woodgate and inside Schwarzer's right post. Then George Boateng carelessly headed a ball back towards his own goal, and Ashley Young nipped in to finish from 18 yards for his fourth goal of the season to leave Watford with their first win of the season at the seventh attempt.

Charlton Athletic 1 Manchester City 0

Darren Bent's 29th-minute header from a Jerome Thomas cross gave Charlton a 1-0 victory over Man City at The Valley. City had plenty of late pressure and sub Hatem Trabelsi shot against the post with five minutes remaining - but Iain Dowie's side held on to move off the bottom of the table.

Bolton Wanderers 0 Wigan Athletic 1

Lee McCulloch's goal proved decisive at The Reebok. In the first half, Bolton's Stelios Giannakopoulos was unfortunate to see a 'goal' cancelled out for offside just before the break.

West Ham United 1 Arsenal 0

In Sunday's early game Marlon Harewood came off the bench to score a late winner for West Ham against Arsenal at Upton Park where rival managers Alan Pardew and Arsene Wenger were involved in a shoving match on the touchline. Robin van Persie also appeared to be hit by a coin thrown from the crowd during the first half.

Tottenham Hotspur 2 Chelsea 1

Tottenham fought-back over 10-man Chelsea to secure their first home league win over the Blues since 1987 as Chelsea had John Terry sent off in the second half. Claude Makelele put the champions ahead in the 14th minute only for Michael Dawson to head Spurs level 10 minutes later. Aaron Lennon snatched victory for Spurs in the 51st minute before Terry was dismissed for a second bookable offence.

Aston Villa 2 Blackburn Rovers 0

Aston Villa climbed back into the top six after they overcame a poor Blackburn side at Villa Park. A disputed Gareth Barry penalty and Juan Pablo Angel's sixth goal of the campaign were sufficient to end a four-game run without a league victory.
